Jump Days & Nights
Come jump with us! Part of Carlisle Academy’s expanding Sports & Education program, Jump Saturdays (winter, spring and fall) and Jump Nights (summer) are fun and informal gatherings for schooling over fences with a supportive group of riders. Each jump session will have a different focus, including: gymnastics, hunter courses and jumper courses. Two levels will be offered during the two-hour program. The first hour is for novice horse and rider combinations who are newer to jumping. The second hour is for more experienced horse and rider duos who are jumping courses.
Carlisle Academy jump instructor Carrie Biggar will be on hand to set jumps and offer her technical expertise to improve the rider and horse over jumps. Carrie, a former intercollegiate Show Jumper, believes her passion for horses and the equestrian sport started in utero. She started taking weekly riding lessons at 10 years old, and at the ripe old age of 11 was jumping any horse she could get her hands on. She competed in the Hunter/Jumper circuit fairly aggressively at 13, showing first in the Children's Pony Hunters and moving up rapidly to the 3'6" Junior Hunters. Carrie continued competing through college. Her greatest joy on horseback is jumping, finding jumpers to be technically challenging and a blast to ride. Carrie is very excited to share her experience with you!
